Automated Decisions & Your Rights
Notice to experts and candidates · Last updated: September 2026
1. The short version
We use automated tools in two places: to score your Pasiflora interview, and to rank experts against a description of work — a data project or, if you have opted in, a full-time role. Those tools produce a score and an ordering. A person makes every placement decision. No expert is put in front of a company, and no expert is excluded from a shortlist, on the output of a tool alone.
You can ask for human review of anything a tool produced about you, ask us to explain it, ask to be assessed a different way, or ask us to stop. Email support@pasifloraai.com.
2. What the tools assess
The interview. Your spoken answers are transcribed and scored against a rubric for your field: how concrete your examples are, whether you can say what went wrong and why, how you reason about cause, what you personally owned, how you weigh trade-offs, and whether you use the working language of the field. The output is a tier — the level of work the conversation demonstrated — and short quotes that show why. It does not assess accent, appearance, age, gender, or anything about you other than the substance of what you said. Recordings are handled as set out in our privacy policy.
Matching. When a company describes a role, we compare that description against experts’ fields, credentials, and demonstrated interview tier, and against the preferences you gave us on your career profile — the roles you want, where you can work, your pay expectation. Self-reported tags you ticked on a form are not used for ranking. What you said in the interview and what you have delivered are. The output is a shortlist a person then reviews.
3. What a person decides
Every shortlist that reaches a company has been looked at by a member of our team. A tool can flag a concern — a claim it could not substantiate, an answer it could not hear — but a flag never rejects anyone; it routes the case to a person. When a decision about you is made by a person, you can ask who made it and why.
The one automated decision we make without a person is the initial gate on an application to the network, as described in the privacy policy. That gate is not a hiring decision, is not shared with any company, and you can have it reviewed by a person on request.
4. What a company sees, and when
A hiring company sees no name, photo, résumé, or contact detail until you have said you are interested in that company. Before that, it sees an anonymous profile. Your pay expectation is shown only after you opt in, and is never used as a benchmark for anyone else. Your interview tier is shown as what the conversation demonstrated, alongside the quotes that support it, so a company is reading evidence rather than a number.
5. Fairness and audit
Before a company located in New York City uses our ranking in a hiring decision, we complete an independent bias audit of the tool as New York City Local Law 144 requires and publish its summary on this page. Until that summary is published here, our matching output is not used for New York City hiring decisions. We apply the same standard wherever a comparable law is in force.
Where an AI tool is used to analyse a video interview for a role in Illinois, we tell you before the interview that it will be, explain how it works and what it evaluates, and obtain your consent, as the Illinois Artificial Intelligence Video Interview Act requires.
We monitor interview scores and shortlist outcomes for differences across groups we can lawfully measure, and we investigate any difference we find rather than explain it away.
6. Your rights
- Human review. Ask a person to re-examine any score, tier, ranking, or decision.
- Explanation. Ask what was assessed and why it came out as it did. You will get an answer in plain language, not a number.
- An alternative process. If you cannot or do not want to take a recorded interview, ask us for another way to be assessed.
- Accommodation. If a disability affects how you would perform in a recorded interview, tell us and we will adjust the format.
- Correction and deletion. Correct anything we hold that is wrong; withdraw a career profile, a résumé, or your account entirely.
- Not to be nudged. If you are here for project work only, say so once on your career profile and we will not raise full-time roles again.
